Valparaiso!!

As I make the journey back up north I decided to stop and spend the weekend in Valparaiso...and I am so glad I did! Valpa is an incredible city with incredible people. After just 2 days it was hard to leave!

There is art and color everywhere!

And the city has Inclines like Pittsburgh!

Bird eye view of a Sunday street fair.

This is my friend Ceasar from who showed me around for the day. I was so lucky to have a local tour guide...and one who likes to walk a lot!

And there was a full moon! Check out my timelapse: http://youtu.be/NqDl-Jt2ZQs

Montana - Chile connection

I finished off a great day in Chile by watching the sunset in Montana with my parents...via Skype!
I'd love to be there with them, but with only one month left in South America I'm not dreaming of being home yet!

Patagonia Cupcake Shop!

If you ever find yourself in Coyhaique, Chile make sure you check out The Cupcake Shop Patagonia! I made a new friend, Ignacio, who is just about to open his first shop. He makes his own breads, and delicious cookies and cupcakes! He was incredibly nice and helpful with my project, and I can't wait to come back some day and see the shop in action!

Day 11: Tierra del Fuego and Penguins!

July 8, 2014

Just a little bit further south!

We had to try to go as far south as possible after making it this far! So we took a ferry to Tierra del Fuego.

The ferry left at sunrise for Porvenir, the only Chilean city on Tierra del Fuego

And then took a bus even further south to see the only king penguins not in Antarctica!

Day 10: Punta Arenas

July 7, 2014

After 10 days in our red truck we made it to Punta Arenas!

We left the snow behind in Puerto Natales, but it was no warmer in Punta Arenas!

Day 9: Camping in the Park

July 5-6th, 2014

It's hard to do a lot of camping in the winter in Patagonia. If you're into hiking I would definitely recommend October to March, but we gave it a shot! Pitched our tent by a stream (you can drink right from the stream), cooked pasta in our vestibule and curled up in two sleeping bags!

We arrived at our campsite below the towers and this happened...http://youtu.be/q8LilGC1yAI

But a little rain didn't bother us!

Day 8: Torres Del Paine

July 5, 2014

We spent the day driving around Torres del Paine National Park. Unbelievably gorgeous!
