Let the adventure begin. We left our adorable hotel in Coyhaique, Hotel Belassario Jara, at sunrise (but it was 9am)
We stopped by the grocery store to make sure we had food and water if we broke down and lots of chocolate to keep us happy before we took the one road out of town, Route 7, The Careterra Austral. We we're headed for Cochrane, but would probably spend the night somewhere roughly half way there.
Once your're 20 meters out of Coyhaique it's all dirt roads, but nothing our truck couldn't handle.
Our goal was to make it to a town to watch some of the Chile vs. Brazil game. We rolled into a town at the foot of a gorgeous mountain range and watched the end of the game in a school bus! We wish it had ended differently though. Chi-chi-chi le-le-le Vamos Chile!!!
